The Kids Explain Sponsorship: Part 2

Recently (or not so recently to be honest, it was over a year ago now), I wrote a letter to each of my kids/teens/young adults and told them about this blog.  Then I asked them to answer some questions for it.  There is a total of 5 Questions and I am posting one a day for five days.

#2.  What do you like hearing about in letters the most?

  • About letters from a sponsor, I desire to know mainly about their lives and families, whether they are fine or not.  ~ Zaina, 15, Uganda
  • I am very much happy to learn about your family members, your work, and your area. ~ Mukesh, 9, India
  • What I like the most about your letters is when you tell me that you pray for me and I am glad to learn how you are.  ~ Linda, 11, Peru
  • What I like the most in a letter is knowing how my sponsor is, about their daily activities, and also what is their condition, because my sponsor is just like my own parent and best friend.  ~ Cris, 13, Indonesia
  • I like when I get your letters and you say that you are healthy.  I like to hear about all the pieces of information you share with me.  And I like to receive your gifts. ~ Estevenson, 13, Haiti
  • I want to hear from your family and about the activities that you do.  ~ Chokchai, 10, Thailand
  • What I like most about the letters is when the sponsor talks about his life and the life of her family, because that is very important to know how they are and how to pray for them.  ~ Franklin, 8, Honduras
  • I like hearing any news you can tell me in the letters.  Also, I like getting photos.  ~Caua, 11, Brazil
  • Communication is very important to all.  Mainly, like with us, I like to know about you through your letters, and I like that I can see you in photos.  That is very exciting.  Always, I just enjoy your letters. ~ Guguloth, 20, India
  • When my sponsor expresses how they love me and that they are praying for me.  These words compensate for the love that one might be missing from family members who died or those who are not around them. ~ Epher, 24, Kenya (LDP Student)
  • When we obtain pictures, advice, and information about the status of our sponsors and their respectful families.  Plus Bible verses too.  ~ Tsigereda, 19, Ethiopia
  • Martha says that, in the letters, she likes to hear the most about your good health with your family and young one, and the prayers that you have made for her. ~ Martha, 6, Kenya
  • What I like hearing about in the letters is, if you are fine.   I am happy to see your daughter and to hear about your friends.  ~ Erickson, 12, Kenya
  • I am very pleased to get your letters because it pleases me a lot.  I am happy when I get to know how you are doing with your family.  It gives me more energy.  I am very happy to get to know that your child is growing up.  ~ Phoibe, 20, Rwanda

  2. I think the kids like the same stuff we do as sponsors! The details about the kids' lives and getting to know them through the letters. It sounds like the kids feel the same! I often share to sponsors that although they may feel they have boring lives, their lives are probably fascinating mysteries to their sponsored kids! Just as our kids' lives are to us :)
